Transcripts of mitochondrial genes before they fully transform into mature mRNA , subject to few modifications posttranscriptional , which include splicing , editing and processing of three and 5 the end of the transcripts . Post-transcriptional processes leading to the formation of mature , functional mRNA is regulated by factors that stabilize or degrade these particles . The level of stable mitochondrial RNA is associated primarily with the transcriptional activity of the gene which is affected , inter alia, the construction of the promoter and the gene copy number . Factor for stabilizing the mitochondrial transcripts shall be present at the 3 the opposite end of the RNA sequence forming a loop structure repeat . In contrast, mitochondrial mRNA degradation factor for plant polyadenylation tails to attach tails to 3 end , which increases the susceptibility to nucleases transcript and induces degradation of RNA molecules . Mitochondrial RNA does not show the presence of specific sequence elements closely associated with polyadenylation . The paper discussed the influence of puberty 3 the end of the stability of mRNA transcripts and degradation of plant mitochondria .
