This article describes some of Rab proteins with their eight subfamilies ( RAB1 , Rab3 , Rab4 , Rab5 , Rab6 , Rab7 , Rab9 and Rab11 ) of different cell types . A wide review of the literature has collected information on the expression and localization of several dozen isoforms and isotypes Rab - products paralogous genes resulting from duplication of genomes. They are involved in the endo- and exocytosis , transport between the various compartments , intracellular signaling , cell proliferation and differentiation by odziaływaniu with different effectors and motor proteins . Some isoforms of proteins and isotypes Rab cooperate in the regulation of these processes , while others have different functions , or often dependent on the type of cells or the phase of the life cycle , as in the case of parasitic species in which there are also substantial changes in the structure described by Rab GTPases many authors. Great expansion of Rab proteins is associated with a variety of intracellular transport pathways , as discussed in aspekcjie evolutionary . Particular attention was paid to Rab7 because of its role in neuropathies , and metabolic disorders . Interestingly, in plants functions of the individual proteins of Rab are different than in other types of cells , which relates primarily to Rab3 , Rab7 and Rab11 .
