The state of medical biotechnology in Europe in 1999, summarizes publications relevant to the 20-year-old international cooperation. European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB) has achievements in many fields of knowledge, especially in medicine. Modern genetic engineering is to be used for biomedical research successfully integrated biopharmaceutical therapy for the purpose of genomic nucleotide sequences from the protein sequence. Achievements are the applications of molecular genetics, which include production of biofarmacetyków: recombinant protein, molecular probes, monoclonal antibody preparations for molecular diagnosis and gene therapy.
