TCR/CD3 is a complex of eight subunits that after antigen stimulation initiates a series of biochemical processes in the T cell leading to changes in cell activity . Performing the appropriate effector functions by T cells allows the specific structure in which there are two functionally distinct parts: the polymorphic region , used to recognize a specific antigen receptor ( TCR) , and a region highly conservative in signal transduction mediated T cell activation ( CD3 complex ) . All subunit of the CD3 complex involved in the activation of T cells and the synthesis and transport of the receptor to the surface of the entire cell membrane. Zz homodimer special position due to the presence in the cytoplasmic portions of each of the chains with up to three ITAM sequences that play a key role in the early stages of signal transduction in T cell and receptor internalization signal masking . The article presents the current state of knowledge about the structure of the TCR/CD3 complex , as well as the participation of its individual subunits in the processes associated with the formation of the complete receptor and its movement within the T cell , including transport to the cell membrane and its internalization poaktywacyjnej .
