The classification is based on the cytokine pattern of active proteins and their receptors, and also takes into account their biological properties. Anti-inflammatory cytokines include interleukin-10 and the affinity for IL-4 and IL-13. The transmission signal from the cytokine receptor protein kinases involved JAK, TYK and several transcription factors of the STAT family. These three cytokines inhibit the synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1, TNF, IL-8) in blood cells stimulated with bacterial endotoxin, and may increase the production of proinflammatory cytokines in other cell types. The mechanism of anti-inflammatory cytokines paradoxical effect is not yet fully understood.
